Outline

This database system displays phase diagrams of ternary systems such as Fe-Cr-Ni, etc. In a two-dimensional (2D) phase diagram, an isothermal section of a ternary system's phase diagram calculated with thermodynamic software Thermo-Calc is displayed. In a three-dimensional (3D) phase diagram, based on multiple calculated isothermal sections, phase boundaries are shown as three-dimensional surfaces taking the vertical axis temperature.

This system was formerly known as "3D Demo System for Ternary Phase Diagrams" of Japan Science and Technology Corporation (JST). It has been transferred to National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) since 1 April 2003. All rights are reserved by NIMS.
